A letter to Loki on his birthday

Loki, you will always be the 'God of Mischief', brother of Thor, Odinson, an Asgardin and not to forget that first of all you are son of Fridga. You aren't a villain but a guy who was victim of the circumstances. You tell many lies but the biggest lie you ever told is that you hate your brother Thor. You never spoke the hatred but you did confess your love for him twice (as far as I know). You are condemned for not crying when Odin banishes Thor, but I appreciate you because I know how hard it was for you to control your feelings and be a dutiful prince. You always respected Odin and honored Fridga, no doubt in that. You even sacrificed yourself for your brother. You just wanted to rule the Earth but other villains' idea was killing so how people consider you bad I don't know? Even Asgard was a chilled out place in your rule. And how can I forget that you were there for Thor in Sakaar, teaching him how to extract good out of bad situations. You fought back to back w

How is Tony Stark a likeable character considering he has screwed over his team countless time? part 5

for part 4  https://arundhatichatterjee58.blogspot.com/2018/08/for-part-3-visit-httpsarundhatichatterj.html part 5  That brings us to Infinity War. In IW , Tony is the only Avenger to make no gross, glaring mistake in defence of the Earth. The war happens and innocents die, mostly because of a crippling lack of preparation and cooperation with the government, both of which are purely and entirely the fault of Captain America and his supporters. So, really, it’s more like the team screwed Tony over countless times. As opposed to what Cap believes, Tony Stark is the only one who can make the sacrificial play to protect the masses . Cap is noble , don’t get me wrong here, but he’s a soldier, not a leader. In his own words, he only thinks about the mission at hand , almost always missing out the bigger picture. Tony sees the bigger picture. Every. Single. Time. Bruce Banner and Nick Fury are the only ones who see this . That is the only reason why Bruce and Strange specifi

He keeps her in a luxurious suite with her closest friend / boyfriend / whatever, who details to her how bad her situation is and how helpful it would be to everyone including herself if she just stayed put for a week or so until Tony can smooth things over. To her credit, she is nearly convinced by this elementary logic, but Cap sends Hawkeye to extract her, and she then assaults Vision with her powers and runs away. Congrats, she’s officially an international criminal too. Incidentally, Cap pulled Hawkeye into this mess after he had retired and was living peacefully with his family . I doubt he had any idea of the Accords’ existence, let alone of their content. Falcon did this to Ant-Man too. And yet people complain

for part 2 visit  https://arundhatichatterjee58.blogspot.com/2018/07/how-is-tony-stark-likable-character_31.html part 3  Naturally, even after he’s resigned, Tony keeps funding and supporting the Avengers . Naturally, they take that for granted and never thank him for it. Speaking of Civil War. Another several paragraphs … The Avengers make a horrible mess because Wanda doesn’t control her powers adequately . As in AoU, she is never confronted or punished by anyone for this, even though any cop or fireman or soldier in her position would be . Instead the whole team, including Tony (who handles the downfall again ), is unfailingly supportive against the evil, stupid governments. Said evil, stupid governments have finally had enough of this bunch of amateurs running around doing whatever they want whenever they feel like it as if the law was something that happens to other people. They write up the Sokovia Accords, a legal document signed by 117 countries that as far as we

How is Tony Stark a likable character considering he has screwed over his team countless time? part 2

for part one visit  https://arundhatichatterjee58.blogspot.com/2018/07/how-is-tony-stark-likable-character.html part 2........ Tony is the only one of the Avengers who can see the big picture. Indeed, he’s the only one to even try. Cap apparently thinks preventative measures are evil . Well, that’s idiotic. Winning or preventing wars before they start is why we have diplomacy , and we will never be able to even estimate how many tens of millions lives it has saved .) Also, Bruce is never blamed by anyone , for whatever reason. By the way, what do you think happened in Infinity War? Cap got what he wanted, Tony stopped trying to win the war before it started. Then the war did start. And innocents died. Thanos would almost certainly have lost if a corrected Ultron protocol — which can be created easily, as proven by Vision — had been in place. Oh, and also by the way, keep in mind that by this point Cap has known for a year that HYDRA killed Tony’s parents, and never t

How is Tony Stark a likable character considering he has screwed over his team countless time? part 1

part 1 There is a question I often get to read or hear that is How is Tony Stark a likable character considering he has screwed over his team countless time? Well people are right in doubting Tony cause he is not as pseudo pure as Captain America, sorry not as pure as Captain Rogers . For a die hard fan of Stark like yours truly it is a troll question but as one can't be in his comfort zone all the time time so alright I will bite. Let’s go through this chronologically, shall we? Avengers Assemble: Tony saves Cap’s life against Loki , and Cap spends the next half of the movie looking down on him like a jock stereotype. Tony then risks his own life restarting the helicarrier's rotor , then risks his own life again delaying Loki alone while the others get there, then wrestles a live nuke into outer space, fully expecting to die from it , in order to save the Avengers and a city of strangers. Oh, and this is all after SHIELD tried to screw him over in Iron Man II

Tony was too weak in Infinity War to stop Thanos

I have seen many people quote many great lines from the movie INFINITY WAR, but I haven't seen this one, so either I am the only one who thought this was a great scene from the movie, or no one else realised or bothered to care about what it meant, but - “Earth just lost her best defender” , and Cap wasn't talking about Spidey or Strange, and apart from these 2 who was the only known Earthling out of Earth we know very well. But you know what …. Tony is just a man in a can , after all. He was weak . For all his knowledge and resources, he was unable to do what he had been preparing for, for the last six years. He was unable to defend the Earth , protect all that mattered to him. So he tried to outsmart the Titan. “I think I'd just cut the wire” It's worked out pretty well so far (I'm full of quotes today), so he thought, why the heck not? …at least on his turf he is not expecting it… Only, it didn't work(though the unknown earthling was responsible), and he n

Egoist Accountability v Modest Impunity

The need for Sokovia Accords and  vision of Tony Stark We all hear about how Tony gets beaten up and thrown left and right by Thor and Hulk (though I remember that he made both of them run for money)  and how he has an ego the size to match Ego, the living planet How, Moral, leadership and combat tactic wise, he is no match for Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow . But looking at it this way……. 1) Financial and flight equipment and accommodation as well as PR were likely hired and paid for by Tony Stark. it is also likely Tony Stark who paid for all the damages created by Hulk, argued with all the politicians about the need for the Avengers, created all the jets, weapons and headquarters used by the Avengers . 2) Technically, the avengers defeated the alien army in the first avenger movie but Iron Man was the one who saved the city (Nuclear Missiles) 3) In the second avengers movie, scarlet witch influenced the Hulk to go berserk. Iron Man was the one who stopped him and

Why Tony Hate Steve ?

Why Tony Hate Steve ? Tony didn’t hate Steve. Sure, he never really liked the Star Spangled man , but he  never really hated him . What Tony and Steve share is a bond of mutual respect. Sorry, what once shared. Until the revelation that Steve was willing to throw aside his morals, everything he stood for to protect the man that murdered his Howard and Maria Stark , Tony respected him. In that moment, the Captain America that Tony had been exposed to his entire childhood, the poster-perfect man on that pedestal, fell from grace completely. The idol that Howard so completely favoured over his own son, betrayed the memory of Howard and Maria Stark. Steve chose to defend the man that turned Tony into an orphan. In that moment, I believe that the respect that Tony had for Steve went shattered . On the surface, both Tony and Steve are fighting to steer the world in the same direction . They just have very varied methods of getting to that end point, they share an ideology. Tony shu

Why Thanos Treasure Tony ?

Why Thanos Treasure Tony ? I n the beginning of their first real exchange of Dialogue, Thanos says he knows who Tony Stark is and that he isn’t the ‘only one cursed with knowledge.’ We know that Thanos is smart and more than likely knows a great deal about Earth, having scouted out all the Infinity Stones and previous had an extension of his Army attempt to invade it; he knows that Tony Stark has defended Earth before , and he knows that he has interfered with his plans time and time again. He knows that Tony Stark is a gifted Human , not with extreme strength or unfathomable powers; but knowledge. His wits, his intelligence has gotten him this far . From being blown up with shards of metal in his heart, to going toe-to-toe with the strongest being in the Galaxy and made him bleed while his armor was partially damaged . Surprisingly, Tony was the only one who made him bleed and went toe to toe with him despite being a normal, mortal human who lacked super powers unlike the

Is Tony Stark a good role model ?

Is Tony Stark a good role model ? I believe human empathy is the greatest emotion one can harbour ,so is the ability to consider all the facts before blindly making decisions based on prejudice. Nevertheless, Tony Stark is no saint. However, this fact applies to the majority of the human population. Let's take a journey- one you don't have to pack for. From birth Tony was raised by a neglectful father who was a dominative , male who trapped his son into a cage . His father was slightly vindictive (no offence to anyone) who taught his son to fear: emotion, fear and vulnerability and being subject to emasculation. By giving Tony such a dismal childhood he had given his son a very breakable ego. After his father's 'accident' Tony Stark was a a broken Boy/Man . This may have influenced his future persona as a 'billionaire, genius , playboy and philanthropist ' as Tony relentlessly strived to be the 'man' that his father always wanted. On th

WHY I LIKE THE MOST FLAWED CHARACTER OF MCU i.e., TONY STARK

WHY I LIKE THE MOST FLAWED CHARACTER OF MCU i.e., TONY STARK Marvel's iconic hero Iron Man has had many different incarnations, been in many different games, movies, and tv shows, been involved in several significant events within the Marvel universe, and has inspired people both fictional and real. To sum it all up, he’s kind of a big deal. The armor clad hero is a favorite to many people, including yours truly, and there are many different reasons as to why that is; his genius, the style, the sheer bravado he has. I’d like to talk about why he’s my favorite superhero. And don’t worry, I won’t lecture you on my opinion of Civil War (2016), even though Tony didn’t deserve what happened. Anthony Edward Stark, or more fashionably, Tony Stark has a multitude of aspects that make him up. Evident in the popular line from the Avengers movie (2012) “Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.” Tony Stark is in a world filled with super powered people, mutants, cosmic beings, and
